BREAKING:Angry NDC Youth Destroy Party Assets Due to Parliamentary Results in Ahafo Ano, South West

An angry group of National Democratic Congress (NDC) youth in the Ashanti Region's Ahafo Ano South West constituency have destroyed and vandalized their party office, burning chairs, a television, and other party property.

The party has suffered severe damage to its assets in Mankranso, the district capital, as a result of the regrettable Sunday afternoon incident.

The irate teens say they are protesting the outcome of the parliamentary election.

They argued that their parliamentary candidate, Sedik Abubakar, had won the election legitimately and accused the national, regional, and constituency leadership of giving the seat to Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah, a candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The group has threatened to harm any national, regional, or constituency officers who visit the area. They have also warned their constituency executives not to return, threatening to set them on fire if they do.

It will be recalled that the Electoral Commission (EC) on December 21, 2024, declared the NPP’s Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah as the winner of the Ahafo Ano South West parliamentary polls.

The recount confirmed Dapaah’s victory with a total of 16,680 votes.

His nearest rival, Sedik Abubakar from the National Democratic Congress (NDC), garnered 16,540 votes, resulting in one of the most closely contested elections in the history of the constituency.

The collation process at the Greater Accra Electoral Commission Office involved nine constituencies that experienced disruptions following chaotic incidents during the 7 December elections.
