Bagbin explains why God granted me a second term as Speaker.

Alban Sumana Bagbin has discussed why God granted him a second term as Speaker of the House of Representatives.

He asserts that measures must be taken to guarantee that lawmakers do not become bankrupt and have impoverished lives after serving the nation.

In order to improve the condition of lawmakers, he stated that he has heard grievances regarding the difficulties faced by certain former MPs and that some changes will be necessary.

This was revealed by Speaker Bagbin while he was addressing a Thanksgiving celebration at his home.

The need to make sure that this changes is due to the fact that lawmakers must use their wealth to finance their campaigns back to parliament, which he described as a terrifying endeavor.

As people look back and see how impoverished past MPs are, check to see if they can even ride a bicycle when you are in government and have all the perks of the job. It is part of resetting Ghana, and I have heard from others that we must take action as a nation.

His Excellency the President is not the only one who is resetting Ghana; Parliament must also do so. He stated, "I know that God allowed me to continue for a second term because I have a lot of things to put in place."
