According to the report by Mynewsgh today Sunday morning, in the Weija-Gbawe Constituency of Accra, a nurse identified as Grace Oforiwaa was found beheaded inside her newly opened pharmacy.
The disturbing discovery has left the local community in utter disbelief as police launch investigations into the brutal murder.
Grace, 29, had recently transitioned from working as a nurse at a local health clinic to opening a pharmacy in the bustling neighborhood of Bortianor.
Her pharmacy, which she had been running for just a few weeks, was well-received by the community due to its convenient location and affordable healthcare services.
According to witnesses, Grace’s colleagues became worried after she failed to show up for her morning shift at the nearby clinic.
"We thought she was just running late, but when we tried calling her, we couldn't reach her," said Samuel Asante, a close friend and fellow nurse.
"We decided to check on her at the pharmacy, but what we found was unimaginable."
When Grace's neighbor, Kofi Amoako, arrived at the pharmacy, he noticed that the door was unlocked.
"At first, I thought she might have gone out to run errands, but when I walked inside, I saw her body lying on the floor with no head. It was so horrifying, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing," Kofi recounted, his voice trembling.
"I immediately called the police."
Upon receiving the call, local law enforcement responded quickly to the scene.
"This is a very disturbing crime," said Inspector Akua Nyarko of the Weija-Gbawe Police.
"We found no signs of forced entry, and nothing appeared to be stolen. It seems this attack was personal, and we are working tirelessly to find out what led to this tragic event."
The police have started questioning people in the area, but no arrests have been made as of yet.
Grace’s family, who had been eagerly supporting her new venture, has been left devastated by her sudden and violent death.
"She was a kind and hardworking person. This is not something anyone could have expected," said her mother, Afia Oforiwaa, tearfully.
"I want justice for my daughter. Whoever did this must pay."
