The Parliamentary candidate on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress NDC for the just-ended 2024 elections for the Effutu constituency sends a message of apology to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama following the recent disruption of the NDC party office by party members in Effutu. Speaking via a phone interview, Honorable Kofi Anan sends a message to the President, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama to forgive him and all party executives in the Effutu constituency over what happened recently. According to Honorable Kofi Anan, the action taken by the party members has tarnished the image of the National Democratic Congress NDC and that of the president. Therefore, being a parliamentary candidate who lost the recent elections, he is sending a message of apology to all national executives of the National Democratic Congress NDC including the President.

Honorable Kofi Anan condemned the action of the youth in his constituency and warned them not to associate him with any form of hooliganism. Honorable Kofi Anan urged the youth to remain calm and develop a good plan on how to win the next elections.

"I am not happy with what happened in my constituency. I am very sorry and I want to tell the president to forgive me. Destroying our party office will not yield any positive results. Getting an appointment from the President is not by violence. However, I don't see the need for the party members to do such a thing". - Honorable Kofi Anan stated during an interview on UTV.
