In addition to the automobile entrance, there are two pedestrian access points, one of which is disabled-accessible.

The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) and the Central Administration funded the gatehouse together.

In order to facilitate the boarding of shuttles and commercial vehicles to different parts of campus, a new shuttle terminal has been opened near the Students' Representative Council Hall.

With the help of the shuttle terminal, which the SRC alone sponsored, students who previously had to wait uncomfortable in the blazing sun to catch shuttles to their destinations will have more convenience.

The Project Consultant is the Directorate of Physical Development and Estate Management (DPDEM).

Inaugurating the facilities, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong, said the gatehouse would serve as a secure and efficient entry point to the campus, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of students and staff of the university.

“The two projects are not mere physical infrastructure. They represent the University’s commitment to providing a safe, accessible and welcoming environment for all members of the University community,” he continued.

To him, the shuttle terminal will provide convenient and comfortable waiting areas for students commuting to and from the SRC hall.

He commended the SRC for contributing towards the construction of the new gatehouse and shuttle terminal.

For his part, the Dean of Students, Prof. Daniel Apaak, expressed excitement at the two projects and commended management of UCC for working together with student leaders.

He said the partnership between management and student leaders would benefit the University to get more infrastructure.

Prof. Apaak appealed to alumni to also support and contribute towards enhancing the status of their alma mater.
