Tragedy struck in Sunyani today as two college students, Richard Asamoah and Linda Ofori, were killed in a road accident while traveling to collect school fees. The incident occurred early Sunday morning on the Sunyani-Kintampo highway, leaving the community in mourning.

Eyewitnesses reported that the students were in a commercial minibus when the driver lost control and crashed into an oncoming truck. The impact killed both students instantly and left several passengers injured. A local resident, Kwame Owusu, described the horrifying scene, saying the bus was speeding when the driver attempted to overtake another vehicle before the crash.

Emergency services quickly arrived and transported the injured to Sunyani Regional Hospital, while the bodies of the deceased were taken to the morgue for autopsy.

Sunyani District Police Commander, DSP Emmanuel Osei, confirmed the accident and urged drivers to exercise caution. Preliminary investigations suggest that overspeeding and reckless overtaking caused the crash.

The loss has deeply affected the college community, with faculty and students expressing their condolences. The families of Richard and Linda are devastated, with Linda's brother, Michael Ofori, expressing deep sorrow over her untimely death.
