Dr. Ama Kutin continues to edify the long-standing debate surrounding the combination of music as a full-time profession with other equally demanding full-time careers. Her ability to effectively juggle both worlds — medicine and music — is not only commendable but heartwarming, especially considering that such a dual commitment is often deemed unrealistic.

A renowned Doctor of Physical Therapy based in the United States of America, Dr. Ama Kutin has made a name for herself as a dedicated and consistent gospel musician. She is known for her ability to blend chorale, acapella, and indigenous African sounds into soul-stirring music. Her hard work was acknowledged by the SAMMYs and further solidified when she earned the prestigious award ‘Female Vocalist of the Year’ at the 2023 edition of the Ghana Music Awards USA.

Earlier this year, on April 20th, Dr. Ama Kutin released her first single of the year titled ‘Trust In You’, a collaboration with Zambia’s Assurance Acapella. The accompanying visual for the song was also shot in Zambia, reflecting a clear intention to embrace a Southern African gospel feel.

Dr. Ama Kutin is back with another powerful project — a brand-new song titled ‘Grace’, featuring Zambia’s topmost female vocal powerhouse and a scintillating woman of God, Chisha. The track, which is accompanied by a colorful and visually stunning music video, was also shot in Zambia.

Ama Kutin recounted the inspiration behind ‘Grace’ to entertainment journalist, JSmart Amenuveve. She shared;

“My inspiration was derived from a Biblical illusion of the men who made their way to the Gate of Heaven and must give reasons why they must be permitted entry. Where other men came with gold, others with money, others saying they are leaders of the church whereas there came one man dressed in rugged clothes who said he had nothing but got to the Heaven’s Gate by God’s ‘Grace.’”

She added that she and her team, Seven7 Africa, intentionally chose Zambia for the production due to the Southern African influence they wanted for the sound, visuals, and instrumentation of the song.

“My prayer is that when people listen to the song and watch the visuals, they will be inspired by the message,” she added.

In addition to her previous accolades, Dr. Ama Kutin has earned three nominations at the 2025 edition of the Ghana Music Awards USA. She is nominated for:

• Gospel Song of the Year

• Female Vocalist of the Year

• Music Video of the Year

These nominations stand as a testament to her unwavering dedication and musical excellence.

Dr. Ama Kutin is undoubtedly the most promising Diasporan artiste and gospel musician at the moment, proving that with grace, determination, and faith, the seemingly impossible is always within reach.
