Former Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Samuel Dubik Mahama, has stated that the company was in a strong and stable condition when he left office.

In a recent interview reflecting on his leadership, Mr. Mahama highlighted key accomplishments, particularly in digital transformation and operational efficiency, which he believes set the company on a trajectory for long-term growth.

“One of our major achievements was the complete digitalisation of ECG’s operations, which significantly enhanced service delivery and boosted revenue collection,” he said. “By the time I stepped down, ECG had become more efficient, with systems in place to sustain its progress.”

He noted that his administration prioritized streamlining internal operations, improving customer relations, and resolving persistent inefficiencies within the organization.

Mr. Mahama expressed optimism that if the reforms and technological infrastructure introduced during his tenure are upheld, ECG will remain on track to deliver reliable service to Ghanaians.

His remarks come as conversations around the country’s power sector intensify, with increasing public demand for improvements in energy distribution.
