Madina MP Francis-Xavier Kojo Sosu has praised President John Dramani Mahama for his decision to declare a two-day holiday for Eid ul-Fitr celebrations, describing it as a commendable move that aligns with his past legislative efforts.
President Mahama, while cutting the sod for the new Hajj Village on February 28, announced that he had instructed legal counsel at the presidency, Marietta Brew, to amend the Public Holidays Act to reflect the change.
Speaking on Eyewitness News on Citi FM, Sosu expressed his support for the decision, stating, “The president’s proposal is very welcomed because it addresses part of what I sought to do with that bill in the former parliament.”
He further commended Mahama’s leadership, adding, “We thank him for this prudent and bold decision.”
