President John Dramani Mahama, Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, has called on newly commissioned officers to embrace responsibility, integrity, and professionalism as they begin their service careers.
Addressing graduates at the Ghana Military Academy on Friday, April 11, President Mahama underscored the seriousness of their new roles, stressing that their actions now reflect the trust and expectations of the entire nation.
“You represent the aspirations of millions of Ghanaians,” he said. “Maintain the highest levels of discipline, loyalty, and dedication to service.”
He emphasized that professionalism must be central to their conduct, adding that the Ghana Armed Forces has earned global respect through its exemplary service both domestically and on international peacekeeping missions.
“Let your actions continue the proud tradition of the Ghana Armed Forces — rooted in sacrifice, courage, and commitment to peace and nation-building,” the President stated.
President Mahama also encouraged the officers to commit to continuous learning, noting that modern military operations demand evolving knowledge and skills.
The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, senior military officials, families, and friends who gathered to celebrate the cadets’ graduation and commissioning into active duty.
