Accra, April 18, 2025 — President John Dramani Mahama has called on Ghanaians to embrace the true spirit of Easter by uniting to rebuild the country’s economy and restore national hope amid current challenges.
Delivering his Easter message on Friday, President Mahama emphasized that the values of resilience, unity, and truth are essential to Ghana’s journey toward economic recovery and social renewal.
“That same resurrection power lives in all of us, and in that power we can rise against discouragement, above hardship and fear,” he said.
His message comes at a time when many Ghanaians are grappling with economic hardship, rising inflation, and youth unemployment, sparking nationwide concern over the country’s future. But Mahama remained confident in the potential for transformation through collective national effort.
“As I speak to you today, not only as a fellow believer but as a Ghanaian who loves my nation deeply, I believe with all my heart that our dear nation Ghana shall rise again. Our economy shall recover, and our youth will find opportunity. Our families will flourish and thrive,” he affirmed.
He underscored that such national restoration would only be possible if all sectors of society — including government, churches, businesses, and communities — work in harmony.
“That restoration will require that all of us… work together in unity and in truth that will make our nation rise again,” Mahama added.
Meanwhile, Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang also shared her Easter reflections in a Facebook post on April 18. She encouraged Ghanaians to use the season as a moment of renewal, recommitting to building a kinder, fairer, and more inclusive society.
