The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ekumfi, Dr. Ekow Othniel Kwainoe, has praised Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson for his good work in fixing Ghana’s economy.
Speaking on Channel One Newsroom on Wednesday, July 23, Dr. Kwainoe said the Finance Minister is doing a great job. He said things are getting better, and we can all see it.
He talked about how the Ghana cedi is now stronger. “Before, one dollar was about GHC17. Now, it is about GHC10.50,” he said. “This has also helped bring prices down.”
Dr. Kwainoe also said that the cost of goods is not going up as fast as before. He said inflation has dropped for six months in a row—from over 23% to about 13.7%.
He said this happened because the Finance Minister and his team made smart choices. He also said farming is doing well, and food is cheaper now.
He pointed to a report by Deloitte that says Ghana may reach single-digit inflation by the end of 2025. He said this shows that the country is moving in the right way.
“I’m not shocked by Deloitte’s report,” he said. “Farming is doing well, food costs less, and the government is making good decisions.”
He ended by saying the Finance Minister has worked very hard and should be thanked. “He has done a great job. Even big money groups in the world are starting to see this,” he said.
