Founding President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe, has called on President John Dramani Mahama to include the Ministry of Public Sector Reforms in his cabinet, emphasizing its crucial role in governance.
Speaking in an interview with TV3 on the sidelines of the National Economic Dialogue in Accra on Tuesday, March 4, Cudjoe stressed the importance of the ministry in ensuring accountability through effective monitoring and evaluation.
"The current administration wants to talk about public sector reforms, but even now, it is more depressed," he stated. "There is this woman who has been designated as the Minister of State, but is that all there is to public sector reforms? Really?"
Cudjoe urged President Mahama to reconsider the ministry’s role, asserting that it deserves a place in the cabinet. "If President Mahama wants to get things going, I plead with him to take a second look at the Ministry of Public Sector Reforms. I think the ministry deserves to be in the cabinet. It is the only ministry that can actually quiz, through proper monitoring and evaluation," he added.
His remarks come as discussions on economic policies and governance reforms intensify ahead of crucial national decision-making processes.
