Ghanaian artiste Agongobiah is gearing up for the release of his new Afrobeat single, “Labadi”, a collaboration featuring Ramske Wire, Demz, Mass Mello, and Joe Eskay.
The song draws inspiration from life experiences, love, friendship, and the lively atmosphere associated with Labadi Beach, one of Accra’s most popular entertainment destinations.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, Agongobiah revealed that the idea came from moments shared with someone close to him who enjoyed spending time outdoors.
Inspired by memories at Labadi Beach
According to the artiste, he and the lady often visited Labadi Beach after church on Sundays to relax and have fun together, an experience that eventually inspired the concept of the song.
“The chorus talks about Labadi Beach. ‘Follow me go, flow me go to Labadi,’” he explained.
Agongobiah added that the song highlights the fun, party lifestyle, and relaxing atmosphere that make Labadi Beach popular among many people in Ghana and beyond.
Collaboration grew unexpectedly
Initially, the musician intended to feature only Mass Mello and Joe Eskay on the track. However, after meeting Demz and Ramske Wire during a studio session at Mass Mello’s house, the project naturally evolved into a five-artiste collaboration.
He noted that the chemistry among the artistes was instant, especially because some of them already shared a strong connection from previous years.
Agongobiah explained that he intentionally wanted different tribal languages and styles represented on the song to create something unique and memorable.
Celebrating diversity through music
The artiste described “Labadi” as an Afrobeat party and relaxation track designed for beach vibes, chilling moments, and enjoyment.
Produced by Nynbeatz and King Eazie, the song blends different tribal languages and musical flows, a feature Agongobiah believes sets it apart from many collaborations currently in the music scene.
He also disclosed that the recording process took time because every artiste wanted to deliver their best performance despite the collaboration becoming bigger than originally planned.
Fans reacting positively to the song
According to Agongobiah, early reactions from listeners have been encouraging, with many people praising the beat, energy, and cultural fusion in the track.
The artiste further admitted that his music journey has not been without challenges, particularly in terms of support and finances, but he remains determined to continue pushing his craft.
He also hinted that fans should expect both a music video and visuals for “Labadi,” alongside more energetic Afrobeat releases later this year.
