Apprise Music has confirmed its participation at WOMEX 2025, taking place in Tampere, Finland, from 22 to 26 October 2025. This marks a bold new chapter in the company’s mission to open global doors for Ghanaian and African artists.

At WOMEX 2025, Apprise Music will present a curated slate of artists in pitch sessions, networking forums, and showcase circles, seeking international collaborations, distribution deals, and exposure. Selected artists include Abiana, Epixode, Rama Blak, Nativ Afrik Band, Abbi Ima, King Eazie, Osagyefo, Kim Muareen, King Nzema, Lalaboy, May Blu, and Ras Caleb Appiah-Levi, among others. The acts will receive tailored promotional support, including playlist placements, digital and print marketing materials, visual campaigns, and in-person pitching opportunities.
Spotlight on leadership: Michael Bamfo and Grace Nyele Mensah
Michael Bamfo (Michael Kwabena Bamfo), Founder and CEO of Apprise Music & Media, has over a decade of experience in artist management, digital marketing, A&R, brand strategy, and tech development. Under his leadership, Apprise has grown from a Ghana-based company into a pan-African and global music brand.
This will be Bamfo’s third appearance at WOMEX, building on previous partnerships formed through the event. At WOMEX 2024 in Manchester, he facilitated a collaboration between Ghanaian singer Abiana and the Latvian band Auli, resulting in the international project Voices of Ghana, a fusion of Ghanaian folk and Latvian pipe-and-drum traditions. The project was distributed by Apprise in partnership with Catapult Music Distribution.
Beyond music, Bamfo supports Ignite Ghana!, an initiative promoting Ghanaian traditional music through education and community research.
Grace Nyele Mensah: operations, publishing and strategy
As head of operations and music publishing, Grace Nyele Mensah continues to strengthen Apprise’s artist support systems and publishing framework. She represented Ghana at the 2024 MaMA Music Convention & Festival, positioning Apprise among key international music networks.
At WOMEX 2025, Grace will coordinate pitch schedules, manage international liaisons, and oversee publishing discussions emerging from networking sessions.
WOMEX opportunity and strategy
WOMEX (Worldwide Music Expo) is the world’s leading gathering for professionals in the global music scene. Each year, over 2,600 delegates from about 90 countries meet for trade fairs, showcases, conferences, and film screenings, creating countless opportunities for cross-border partnerships.
Apprise Music’s goals at WOMEX 2025 are to launch new global pathways connecting Ghanaian and African artists with labels, agents, promoters, and festivals, and to amplify Apprise’s brand as a key exporter of African music through strategic storytelling, curated showcases, and international engagement.
Following the success of the Abiana × Auli collaboration at WOMEX 2024, Apprise aims to expand that success model across multiple artists in 2025.
