In a major national health milestone, McSARPONG Medical Systems, in collaboration with the 37 Military Hospital, has conducted a large-scale diabetes screening initiative that reached more than 2,000 people in a single day. The exercise, held as part of World Diabetes Day activities, highlighted a shared commitment to preventive healthcare and early detection across Ghana.

The initiative brought together a coordinated team of medical professionals from the 37 Military Hospital and technical specialists from McSARPONG Medical Systems. It aimed to tackle the rising prevalence of diabetes — a global health challenge that remains particularly pressing in developing healthcare systems.

As a leading supplier of medical technology, diagnostic equipment, biomedical devices, and clinical consumables, McSARPONG Medical Systems continues to play a central role in strengthening Ghana’s healthcare ecosystem. The company supports hospitals, clinics, and laboratories nationwide with solutions ranging from emergency care equipment and imaging technologies to laboratory diagnostics, patient monitoring systems, and essential clinical consumables.

Leadership from the 37 Military Hospital emphasized the importance of institutional collaboration in combating non-communicable diseases. Chief Dietitian Hamdaratu Dauda described the initiative as:

“A forward-looking model for delivering community-scale preventive healthcare through effective institutional cooperation.”

McSARPONG Medical Systems provided extensive technical and logistical support, including diagnostic tools, clinical supplies, and trained personnel. Dr. Richard Nana Sarpong, CEO of McSARPONG Medical Systems, underlined the national significance of the exercise:

“Early detection is one of the most powerful tools we have in reducing the burden of diabetes. Our collaboration with the 37 Military Hospital demonstrates our commitment to delivering meaningful, measurable impact in communities across Ghana.”

He added that the initiative reflects international best practices encouraging public–private collaboration to address non-communicable diseases, in line with WHO and UN health frameworks.

Participants welcomed the free screening, noting it offered valuable insights into their health and guidance for early intervention, lifestyle adjustments, and treatment pathways.

The 37 Military Hospital praised McSARPONG Medical Systems for its ongoing partnership and dedication to national health programs. The exercise, which reached thousands in a single day, also aligned with the global World Diabetes Day theme, “Access to Diabetes Care,” demonstrating how strategic collaboration can achieve large-scale community health impact.

By combining technical expertise, shared commitment, and operational excellence, McSARPONG Medical Systems and the 37 Military Hospital have set a new benchmark for preventive healthcare initiatives in Ghana, delivering tangible results and reinforcing the importance of public–private partnerships in national health development.
