Prosper Dossey Construction and Trading Enterprise has announced a new construction training programme aimed at equipping young people with practical skills for the building industry.
The programme, being organised under the ProsDOS Building Construction Training Centre, will run from December 1, 2026, to February 28, 2027, at Denu Junction in the Volta Region.
The training will focus on key areas of construction, including masonry and brickwork, plastering and finishing, concrete works and foundations, as well as construction safety and standards.
Participants are expected to receive hands on practical training and certificates after completing the programme.
From hardship to construction
The initiative is linked to the personal journey of Prosper Dossey, who lost his parents at the age of 14.
Without parental support, he had to find ways to survive and went through different hustles before learning construction as a trade.
His experience in the construction industry has now inspired him to create an opportunity for young people to learn practical skills and explore construction as a possible livelihood.
Encouraging young people
Beyond technical training, Dossey is also using his experience to encourage young people not to give up when faced with difficult circumstances.
He believes young people can develop themselves through practical skills and perseverance, regardless of the challenges they encounter.
The ProsDOS training programme is therefore expected to give participants practical exposure to construction while introducing them to workplace safety and industry standards.
