WAEC Releases 2026 BECE Results: Check Your Results Now

The long wait is over for thousands of Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates across Ghana.

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the provisional results of the 2026 BECE for School Candidates.

A total of 620,243 candidates, comprising 304,415 males and 315,828 females from 20,789 schools, participated in this year’s examination.

WAEC announced that the results of school candidates have been sent to their respective schools through the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Directors of Education.

However, candidates and parents who want to check their results online can access them through the official WAEC results checking portal using a valid Results Checker voucher.

To check your BECE results online, you need a valid BECE Results Checker voucher.

Candidates, parents and guardians can purchase the voucher by dialing:

After purchasing the voucher, follow these steps:

1. Visit the WAEC results portal: eresults.waecgh.org

2. Enter your Index Number.

3. Confirm your Index Number.

4. Select your examination type: BECE School Candidate.

5. Select examination year: 2026.

6. Enter your Results Checker Serial Number.

7. Enter your Results Checker PIN.

8. Complete the Captcha verification.

9. Click on Submit to view your results.

WAEC Releases 2026 BECE Results: What Candidates Should Know

WAEC explained that the released results are provisional and candidates are advised to carefully check their grades.

The Council also revealed that some results have been affected due to examination malpractice cases.

Following investigations, WAEC approved:

• Cancellation of subject results for 496 candidates

• Cancellation of entire results for 105 candidates

• Withholding of subject results for 119 candidates

• Withholding of entire results for 48 candidates

WAEC further disclosed that the subject results of 2,722 candidates from 229 schools have been withheld for further scrutiny.

The Council stated that these results may either be cancelled or released after investigations are completed by August 31, 2026.

WAEC Warns Against Fake BECE Result Upgrades

WAEC has warned candidates, parents and the public to be cautious of fraudsters who claim they can upgrade examination results for money.

The Council advised candidates to use only official WAEC platforms when checking their BECE results.
