62-year-old Volta Businesswoman Murdered: Police Say Killer Assaulted Her With Sharp Object.

According to GHOne TV, a 62-year-old businesswoman from the Volta Region died after being attacked by a suspect with a sharp weapon.

Police have confirmed the occurrence, which took place in disturbing circumstances, and are currently investigating the crime.

The woman, Afia Amekor, was well-known in her town for running a grocery store.

According to police reports, the suspect, whose identity has not been revealed, approached Afia while she was conducting business.

Without warning, the suspect struck her with a sharp object, causing major injuries that resulted in her death.

A neighbor who witnessed the attack recalled the horrible scene.

"I was sitting outside when I noticed the man approaching her." At first, I assumed it was a regular customer, but then I heard her scream. "The man was holding something sharp, and before anyone could intervene, she collapsed," said the witness, who requested anonymity.

After the assault, the suspect fled the scene, leaving the businesswoman in severe condition. Afia was transported to a neighboring clinic but was confirmed dead shortly after arriving.

The police instantly initiated a manhunt for the culprit, and they are using all available resources to find him.

Local authorities have expressed astonishment and sadness about the incident, which has left the community in bewilderment.

"This is a terrible tragedy," the regional police spokesperson stated.

"We are committed to finding the person responsible and bringing them to justice."

As investigations continue, residents in the Volta Region are raising concerns about the area's safety.

"It's very disturbing. Another neighboring homeowner commented, "We never expected something like this to happen here."

"We just hope the police find the person who did this."

Afia's family and friends are mourning her passing, remembering her as a kind and hardworking woman who made a great contribution to the community.

Authorities have called for anyone with information about the attack to come forward and help with the investigation.
