According to TV3 GH, a notable businessman, Mr. Kwame Asare, and his wife, Mrs. Akosua Asare, were killed in a horrific car accident on Sunday morning.

The terrible occurrence occurred early this morning, Sunday, January 26, 2025, on the Amasaman-Kasoa route in Ghana's Ga West Municipality.

The couple, known in the neighborhood for their philanthropy and active participation in religious activities, were on their way to a Sunday service at a local church in Amasaman.

According to eyewitnesses, their black Toyota Camry hit head-on with an incoming truck on a tight bend near Obeyeyie Junction.

Kofi Mensah, an eyewitness, described the scene as horrific.

"We witnessed the automobile lose control and drift into the path of the truck. It happened so quickly. By the time we arrived, they were confined in the car. It was distressing to witness such a scene on a Sunday morning," he remarked.

Emergency personnel arrived on the site immediately after the accident. Firefighters worked frantically to extricate the couple from the wrecked vehicle, but both were confirmed dead at the scene.

Their bodies have been taken to the Amasaman Government Hospital morgue for autopsy and preservation.

The truck driver, who incurred minor injuries, is presently assisting authorities with their investigations.

The Ghana Police Service has encouraged motorists to exercise caution, particularly on congested roads such as the Amasaman-Kasoa expressway, which is known for accidents.

Reverend Emmanuel Owusu, the pastor of the couple's church, expressed his sorrow over the incident.

"Mr. and Mrs. Asare were pillars of our church." They were gentle, humble, and always willing to help anyone in need. Their untimely demise is a tremendous loss not only to the church, but to the entire community."

The couple is survived by three children, who are currently in the care of family members.
