As a Toyota Land Cruiser caught fire, severe traffic jams have destroyed traffic flow on the Tema Motorway stretch.
Witnesses stated that at around 10:30 a.m., the incident happened close to the Community 18 Junction. Several drivers pulled over to investigate the issue after spotting smoke rising from the car in the distance. The car's driver reportedly stopped right away to look into the smoke coming from the engine area.
The automobile caught fire a few moments later, and the people inside had to rush to safety.
Thankfully, there were no reported injuries. Since the car was completely destroyed by the fire, no Ghana National Fire Service personnel were dispatched to the scene. Because the burned remnants of the vehicle have not yet been removed, drivers are being advised to drive carefully along the route.
