A developing story involving a Ghanaian football coach, an underage player, and a tragic death has taken a dramatic turn with the leak of intimate videos online, sparking national outrage and debate.
The case centers on Ibrahim Anyass, a coach at the Siano Soccer Academy, and Ransford Owusu Ansah, a 16-year-old footballer who passed away in March 2025. The controversy erupted publicly when Coach Anyass was arrested and questioned by the Ghana Police Service on the morning of November 7, 2025, in connection with the teenager's death. He was released on the same day.
The Core of the Allegations
According to reports from sports journalist Sadick Adams, the police inquiry was triggered by serious claims that Coach Anyass may have sexually abused the late teenager. The allegations of sodomy have cast a dark shadow over the young player's untimely death, leading to the viral social media hashtag #JusticeForRansford.
Confirming the coach's release, Sadick Adams posted on X (formerly Twitter): “Siano Soccer Academy coach Ibrahim Anyass, accused of sodomizing #JusticeForRansford, has been released by the Ghana Police Service after being questioned at the CID headquarters this morning.”
The Leaked Videos: Fueling Public Outcry
Shortly after the coach's release, a series of videos began circulating online, purportedly showing Coach Anyass in casual and seemingly affectionate moments with the late Ransford and other academy players.
The footage, which appears to have been shot in informal settings like bedrooms and training grounds, shows the coach interacting closely with the boys. One particularly discussed clip, shared by former NEIP CEO Kofi Owusu Nkansah on Facebook, reportedly shows the coach lying on a bed while Ransford sits nearby. The clip then shows the coach getting up and embracing the teenager from behind as music plays in the background.
These leaked videos have become the epicenter of a fierce online debate.
