Cecilia Dapaah Faces New Allegations in Corruption Probe.

A netizen has made shocking allegations against Ghana's former Sanitation Minister, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, claiming that she departed the country the day after President John Dramani Mahama's inauguration. The charges come amid continuing investigations into large sums of money allegedly discovered in her possession.

Cecilia Dapaah and her husband made headlines in 2023 when they filed a theft complaint alleging that more than $1 million and €300,000 were stolen from their home. This disclosure sparked widespread uproar, with many asking why a government minister would retain such large quantities of money at home.

In response, the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) initiated an inquiry into the case, looking into probable corruption and related offenses.

Recent OSP reports have added a new dimension of intrigue to the ongoing probe. It was uncovered that Cecilia Dapaah's deceased brother's bank account is still functioning and is transferring monies to her accounts. The OSP has confiscated millions of cedis from her accounts and frozen others, with transactions worth over ¢40 million under review.

An old video of Martin Kpebu, a private legal practitioner and member of President Mahama's anti-corruption team, has emerged, fueling the issue. In the video, Kpebu issues a strong warning about Dapaah's money transactions. Speaking on TV3's Key Points, he stated:
