Broda Sammy, a Ghanaian gospel performer, has urged churches to begin providing for its underprivileged members.
Speaking as a guest on Empress Gifty Adorye's United Showbiz show, Broda Sammy revealed that churches need to change their tactics if they hope to win people over to Christ.
He clarified that the majority of churchgoers are impoverished and unable to support themselves, yet they are always compelled to make financial contributions and present offerings for church initiatives.
Certain churches are avaricious. You constantly beg your members for money even though you know they are penniless and impoverished. How do you think they'll make it? You continue to take the little money they have to finance church projects rather than give it to them for small trades. "Oh," he said.
Additionally, Broda Sammy counselled churches not to fire women who become pregnant outside of marriage. This behaviour, he claimed, compels young girls to get dangerous abortions.
