A 13-year-old girl narrowly survived an alleged ritual death after being seized by four unidentified males on Friday in Aburi-Kitase, Akuapem South Municipality, Eastern Region.

The teenager, who lives close former President John Agyekum Kufuor's residence, went missing at 8 p.m. while on his way to buy food in Kitase.

According to Citi News sources, the abductors chained the girl's hands and legs and were about to slice her breasts. When a good Samaritan discovered their actions, he fired warning shots, and they departed the place.

Speaking with Citi News, Frank Amankwah, Assembly Member for the Kitase Electoral Area, confirmed the incident and blamed the increased insecurity in the area on broken lamps along the Ayi Mensah to Peduase Lodge stretch.

Amankwah urged the Inspector General of Police to improve security in the region and address the increasing prevalence of social vices around the Peduase Presidential Lodge.

"I've filed multiple complaints regarding these traffic difficulties. All of the street lights between Ayi Mensah and Peduase Lodge are out of order. Boys from Ashiaman, Madina, Nungua, and other adjacent towns come here, so if something like this happens, we can't pinpoint the source.

"So I'm calling for proper security in the region. It's sad how lax security is at Peduase Lodge. I beg the IGP and all security forces to come to our rescue," he said.
