Frankin Cudjoe, president of IMANI Africa, a policy think tank, has urged Ghanaians to vote overwhelmingly against the NDC if they participate in the recall of Parliament.
He stated in a social media post that if the minority participates in the recall, it will be obvious that their situation will be worse than what is now taking on under the NPP.
According to him, a parliament that bears its name will never debate multiple measures in a two-day period.
After the Speaker adjourned the session sine die due to concerns regarding certain vacant seats, Parliament will have 17 bills to consider when it is recalled.
"Any Parliament worth its name should under no circumstances be considering all these many bills and costly plans in two says," stated Franklin Cudjoe in his tweet. The most obvious sign yet that Ghanaians will have a worse government would be if the minority group in Parliament participated in this. I'll implore voters to pay attention and punish them.
In the meanwhile, if the Speaker of Parliament orders a recall, the National Democratic Congress's (NDC) National Chairman has cautioned its members not to appear in Parliament. Speaking on TV3 in Accra, Sam Nartey George made it apparent that the minority party's members of parliament had chosen not to return to the legislature because they must remain in their districts to vigorously campaign for victory in the 2024 elections.
