On November 21, 2024, Sylvia Patience Baah, the Airport Services Manager of Emirates Airlines in Accra, was abducted at the door of her home. She was safely freed by the Ghana Police Service. The police confirmed her safe return to her family on November 23, 2024, when they announced her rescue.
A group of medical specialists and behavioral psychologists have been tasked with helping Baah and her family get well after her rescue. Despite the terrible event, the victim and her family are in excellent spirits, according to Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), who spoke with them directly.
A manhunt is being conducted in the meanwhile to find the kidnap perpetrators. The public has been reassured by the IGP that the culprits will be held accountable.
He also conveyed his appreciation to those who contributed vital information throughout the operation, saying: "We would like to take the opportunity to thank all those who gave us pieces of information in the course of our rescue operations in particular and the public in general for their support and cooperation."
