A 50-year-old Lafayette, Indiana woman has been arrested for allegedly posting death threats against President Donald Trump on social media.

Nathalie Rose Jones was taken into custody on August 16, 2025, and faces federal charges for threatening to kill, kidnap, or harm a President and for transmitting threats across state lines.

U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro stated that threatening a President is a grave crime that will be met with swift prosecution, praising the U.S. Secret Service for its quick response. Matt McCool, a Special Agent in charge, emphasized that all potential threats are treated with the utmost seriousness.

According to court documents, Jones used the name "Nath.Jones" on Instagram and Facebook to post numerous violent threats between August 2 and 15. In one post, she allegedly described a graphic method of killing, while in another she called for Trump's arrest and removal as a "terrorist."

The Secret Service reports that during an interview, Jones admitted to viewing Trump as a "terrorist" and a "nazi" and stated she would try to kill him if given the opportunity, claiming to possess a bladed weapon. The following day, after protesting near the White House, she admitted to making the threats but denied any current intention to carry them out before being arrested.

The case remains under investigation by the U.S. Secret Service and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Josh Satter.
