Kwame Addo Kufuor Jr., the son of former Defense Minister Dr. Kwame Addo Kufuor, passed away. Fred Kyei Mensah, a seasoned Ghanaian music producer, shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook.
"Senior Addo Kufuor of Guggisberg House, Class of 83/85, and the son of Dr. Kwame Addo Kufuor, former Minister of Defense in President Kufuor's administration, whose picture is on the left," commented Fred Kyei Mensah on Facebook.
Former Ghana Chamber of Mines President Kwame Addo Kufuor Jr. also held the position of President of the ECOWAS Federation of Chambers of Mines. The late Addo-Kufuor Jr. started his career with AngloGold Ashanti, where he served in a variety of capacities, including head of finance for the company's West Africa operations, vice president of corporate affairs, and director.
Later on, he joined Newmont Africa, where he served as the Regional Vice President for Government Relations and the Regional Chief Financial Officer. He was elected president of the Ghana Chamber of Mines in 2016 and served in that capacity until 2018. As of right now, the family has not formally confirmed this information.
