Just in: Supreme Court Cancels Re-Collection Results for Four Constituencies.

According to recent reports, the Supreme Court has resolved to cancel the recollation of parliamentary election results in four crucial constituencies. These are Okaikwei Central, Ablekuma North, Tema Central, and Techiman South. However, the court maintained the results of Nsawam Adoagyiri and Ahafo Ano North, finding them legitimate.

This ruling follows a court struggle between the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the outcomes of the parliamentary elections in certain regions. The NDC has appealed the High Court's earlier ruling for a recollation of results, claiming that the procedure was defective and unfair.

The Supreme Court's decision to cancel the re-collection in four constituencies means that the results announced previously in these districts will no longer be valid. This development could have a considerable impact on Parliament's composition, since both parties have been competing for close seats.

The Supreme Court confirmed that the initial results for Nsawam Adoagyiri and Ahafo Ano North constituencies were genuine and did not require any recollation. This provides relief to candidates in these areas because their victories are now officially recognized.

The case was heard by a five-judge bench chaired by Justice Gabriel Pwamang. The panel also featured Justices Henrietta Mensa-Bonsu, Eric Gaewu, Henry Kwofie, and Richard Adjei-Frimpong.

Before issuing their decision, the judges considered the arguments made by lawyers representing the NDC, NPP, and Electoral Commission. The NDC's lawyer, Godwin Edudzi Tameklo, and the NPP's counsel, Gary Nimako Marfo, both offered compelling arguments in favor of their viewpoints.

The Electoral Commission is anticipated to provide official announcements regarding the next steps following the Supreme Court's decision.
