Mahama’s inconsistency is not what Ghana needs at this moment – Bawumia

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has reminded Ghanaians of John Dramani Mahama's lack of consistency and insisted that he cannot be trusted.

The New Patriotic Party flagbearer said that John Dramani Mahama cannot be trusted, using both his present and previous positions on Free Senior High School to support his claims.

To put it plainly, my opponent, the former president, is incredibly inconsistent. He said that Free Senior High School was a scam and would cause the economy to collapse, but he now claims to have implemented it. He implemented teacher licensure examinations while serving as president, but he now claims to be against them.

He abolished teacher and nursing training allowances. He said he would abolish it even if it cost him his presidency, but today he says he will continue to pay them. He is not committed to it, it is just for political expedience.

He listed infrastructure as one of his accomplishments in the past, but now that our infrastructure record is better than his, he claims that infrastructure has no bearing on the economy and that the economy is distinct from infrastructure. How can that be? I mean, if a former president claims that infrastructure has no bearing on the economy, I can see why the economy collapsed during his administration.
