Members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) allegedly attacked police officers and shut state offices in Awutu Bereku, central Ghana. The event occurred after a heated standoff between party members and local law officers following a political disagreement.

According to reports, NDC members became angry as police sought to intervene in an escalating protest in the neighborhood. Tensions grew further when some people allegedly assaulted police officers who were on duty, preventing them from executing their jobs. In addition, NDC members barricaded state offices, including district assembly offices, impeding routine government activities.

Local officials have condemned the brutality, and investigations are ongoing to identify and hold accountable those guilty for the attack. The incident has raised concerns about the region's growing political turmoil and violence, prompting appeals for calm and diplomacy to prevent future escalation.

The NDC has yet to comment on the event, and police are working to restore peace and order in the neighborhood.
