The allegation made by NDC surprises us. EC

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) claimed to be the party that informed the Electoral Commission of the difficulties with serializing ballots for the Ahafo and Volta Regions, which surprised the commission.

Given that the impacted ballots were produced for areas that include the Volta Region, which the NDC views as its stronghold, the Commission questioned why the NDC would have concealed this information from the public.

Using a recent media interview by Mr. Richard Jakpa, the party's head of ballot printing, the Commission also brought the public's attention to the fact that the NDC typically consults the public before airing their complaints with the EC regarding any problems they may have with the electoral process.

Therefore, the Commission is taken aback by the NDC's choice to keep this matter out of the public eye until Friday, November 15, 2024, when the EC notified the political parties of its intention to reprint the ballots for the Ahafo and Volta Regions. The EC adamantly maintained that the EC Team, which was based at the aforementioned Printing House, had identified the serialization issues, and the Commission's Audit Department had verified this as well.

Despite the presence of its agents during the process, the Commission claimed that no Political Party, either publicly or informally, informed it about the difficulties with serialization at the Printing House.
