A video has begun circulating on social media, capturing a notable moment at the Sustainable Mining & Local Growth Summit in Accra, where the former running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as NAPO, was seen bowing to greet President John Dramani Mahama as he exited the summit grounds.

The gracious gesture, which many have regarded as meaningful and dignified, was made at the end of the summit's session on Monday, June 2, 2025. High-profile luminaries attended the event, including Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who made the keynote address after President Mahama gave him the symbolic title of "President" for 30 minutes.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh, the NPP's Vice-Presidential candidate for the 2024 elections, was seated among the guests when President Mahama went by. As shown in the video, NAPO stood up and bowed in greeting, eliciting a wide range of responses from the people.

While some social media users welcomed the moment as a sign of maturity and respect in Ghanaian politics, others saw it as a rare gesture of humility in the country's typically contentious party atmosphere.
