Sally stated that they were against the "On God" singer because of what she saw as his disdain for Ghanaian media figures.
"To encourage Stonebwoy to win a Grammy, we had caucus meetings. The goal was very clear: Shatta Wale doesn't respect traditional media, so we're rooting for you (Stonebwoy). However, by answering Shatta Wale, you (Stonebwoy) are now departing from the original purpose. You have no right to answer him. "I said," she said.
“The agenda was to take you to the Grammys, and as for him (Shatta Wale), his career is over. He is now a pensioner. Look at how well you’ve done over the past three years, even with your ‘5th Dimension’ album. But now you’re making things difficult for us. Don’t be a puppet for Shatta Wale,” she added.
Stonebwoy's tendency to address issues that may be disregarded was another issue that Sally brought up. She cautioned that his repeated remarks could harm his reputation and impede some prospects, especially his statement that a Jejereje remix with Skrewfaze wouldn't be ideal. "As a reasonable person, you should be aware that you cannot win a Grammy with just your followers. Skrewfaze can include his followers in the mix if he jumps on a track. You talk too much; not everyone is cut out for PR work. Give up attempting to perform a public relations role. You have someone in charge to take care of things for you because of this," she suggested.
Sally Mann’s comments follow Stonebwoy’s statement that a remix of his new Jejereje song with hiplife artist Skrewfaze would not be commercially beneficial for him.
