Ten officers who had filed a lawsuit to block their transfers by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) have officially abandoned the case.

The officers have informed the court of their decision, reserving the right to reapply in the future if necessary.

In their original suit, the officers claimed that Deputy Inspector-General of Police Christian Yohonu had instructed them to disregard the transfer order.

This development signifies a cessation of their legal challenge against the Police Administration’s directive.

Spearheaded by Sergeant David Ojeyim, the officers initially sought a court order to halt their transfers from their current positions.

They argued that the transfer directive was arbitrary and lacked justification, undermining their professional stability and deviating from standard administrative procedures within the police service.

The group includes prominent members such as Sergeant Prince Owusu Fayosey, Sergeant Seidu Essilfie, Sergeant Alex Abah, Corporal John Yao Adzimagbor, Corporal Michael Kwasi Avuyi, Corporal Huudu Muhammed Wumbe, Corporal Kabiru Mohammed, Corporal Hannah Antwi-Boasiako, and IC/Inspector Alexander Odoi.

Together, they raised concerns about the transparency and fairness of the transfer process, demanding accountability from the Police Administration.
