102 out 134 declare support for Asamoah-Boateng re-election

Cape Coast, April 29, GNA - One hundred and two out of the 134 New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairpersons in the Mfantseman West constituency, have declared their support for Mr Stephen Asamoah-Boateng, the Member of Parliament for the area.

Declaring their support in a statement at a press briefing on Monday at Cape Coast, the 102 chairpersons said, their support for Mr Asamoah-Boateng was based on development projects the constituency had seen during his term of office.

Mr Sakyiba Erskine, Chairman of Nyarko's Board Shop Polling Station at Mankessim read the statement and assured the MP of their support in seeking re-election to Parliament.

He said Mr Asamoah-Boateng had provided nine community centres connecting 13 communities to the national electricity grid.

In addition, Mr Erskine said the MP has provided 10 toilet facilities for the people in the area and assisted in the constructing and rehabilitating nine access roads for the Constituency.

Mr Asamoah-Boateng, he said also donated 20 computers and printers to a number of institutions in the constituency as well as 15 industrial machines to the Biriwa Vocational Institute.

Again Mr Erskine said the MP presented three Nissan Pick-ups to the Mfantseman East and West Constituencies of the party, one big poly tank each to the Saltpond Methodist Senior High school, Edzimbor, Obontsir, Ansaadze, and Krapakrom communities.

He said the MP had also provided telephone booths in many of the communities to boost communication in the Constituency. Mr Erskine said, Mr Asamoah-Boateng, who is now the Minister of

Information and National Orientation had provided scholarships to many brilliant but needy students in the area.

"He has also initiated beautification programmes for some communities including Mankessim round-about."

Mr Erskine also noted that the MP was always found in the Constituency especially at weekends holding meetings and attending to invitations.

"We think he has done a good job and needs to be given a second chance," Mr Erskine concluded the statement.
