Welcoming participants to the ceremony, the municipal director of the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development, Emmanuel Bukari, said the gesture is aimed at boosting the productive capacities of the PWDs.
He urged families with disabled children to desist from keeping them away from the public, but rather register them with his outfit so they can also benefit from future support.
The Atebubu-Amantin municipal chief executive, Masud Musah Ayarba Thomas, said the objective of the disability fund is to improve the well-being of the disabled and urged them to put the items to good use.
The MCE indicated that the assembly, for the first time, decided to add a little start-up capital to facilitate the businesses of beneficiaries who received items like freezers and fufu preparation machines.
He said the assembly last November presented cash support amounting to thirty-seven thousand Ghana cedis to 21 members of the group.
Shaibu Sulemana, local chairman of the Ghana Federation of Disability Organisations, praised the MCE for his favorable disposition to PWDs in the municipality and thanked the government for the assistance.
