The vetting committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially cleared twelve aspirants to contest the Tamale Central Constituency parliamentary primary, according to myjoyonline.com.

The primary is scheduled to take place on September 6, 2025, at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale.

This follows the successful completion of the vetting process, which concluded on Sunday, August 31.

Barbara Serwaa Asamoah, Deputy General Secretary of the NDC and Chairperson of the Vetting Committee, confirmed that all twelve aspirants were approved to contest.

In a statement, she expressed admiration for the calibre of candidates, which includes professors, lawyers, doctors, diplomats, and other distinguished professionals.

She also highlighted the inclusion of three highly qualified women in the race, describing their participation as a refreshing and progressive development.

The party has urged all aspirants to engage in peaceful, issue-based campaigns and to refrain from personal attacks, emphasising unity and decorum throughout the electoral process.
