A 15-classroom block of the Seat of Wisdom International School caved in Friday after a heavy downpour at Afrancho Bronkong in the Kwabre West District of the Ashanti region.
The block houses over 360 pupils.
According to eyewitnesses, the school block collapsed a few hours after the school children had been asked to go home when the rains subsided.
Residents believe the accident could have been caused by an excavation exercise for a church building nearby after the foundation of the two-storey school building was exposed.
The proprietor of the school Jude Boateng told Accra-based TV3 there was no casualty, but the school children lost a lot of books and other learning materials.
He appealed to the general public and corporate Ghana to come to their aid to put up a temporary wooden structure to enable them to teach from Monday.
