JAPAN MOTORS IN TAKORADI

All customers of Japan Motors Trading Company Limited in Takoradi will enjoy 25 per cent discount on labour charges and 15 per cent discount on spare parts, while all Nissan vehicle drivers can bring their vehicles in for free 20-point diagnostic check-up until the end of July this year.

This was announced by the Managing Director of Japan Motors and Trading Company Limited, Mr. Salem Kalmoni during the launch of its new branch in Takoradi yesterday.

He advised people using Nissan vehicles not to risk sending major repairs or servicing to “way side” fitters whose expertise might fall below standard, but to contact the company’s branch in Takoradi for the needed assistance or service.

Mr. Kalmoni revealed that the Takoradi branch was the fifth to be established in the country after those of Accra, Tema, Kumasi and Tamale.

The Branch Manager of Takoradi, Mr. Stephen Kofi Nti noted that the branch was committed to serving the people in the region and beyond and that it was strategically placed to remove the burden of traveling to Accra and Kumasi for vehicle sales, parts and maintenance.

He disclosed that two special packages comprising mobile workshop for fleet users outside Sekondi-Takoradi and consignment stocks for fleet users outside Takoradi would soon be introduced.

The Western Regional Minister, Hon. Anthony Evans Amoah, who inaugurated the Takoradi Branch of the Company, said the ruling government had deepened government-private sector coordination in the country.

A donation of a YAMAHA YBR 125 motorbike was donated to the Municipal chief executive Mr. Nkrumah.

He added that the Western Region was a safe and peaceful investment destination and assured Japan Motors and Trading Company of the Regional Coordinating Council’s support to enhance the growth of its business.

Mr. Jimmy Dando, in charge of Export and Business Operation for Sub-Sahara Africa said Nissan was one of the world’s top automakers with 33.7 million vehicles sold in the 2007 fiscal year, an increase of more than eight per cent (8%) over the previous year.

He disclosed that Nissan would introduce its first all-electric car in 2010 in the USA and Japan, and would market it globally in 2012. Ends
