About 150 buses of the Metro Mass Transport company's 800 fleet are out of order and have been parked because the management of the company is not replacing faulty spare parts of the buses, a union member of the company Joseph Ahenkorah has told Morning Starr host Kafui Dey.

The workers have cited this problem as one of the many issues confronting the Metro Mass Transport Company, for which reason they want the Board Chairman and Deputy Managing Directors sacked.

Public transportation was brought to a standstill in most parts of the country when the MMT workers went on a few hours’ strike on Monday over a litany of concerns including the missing of 12 buses of the MMT fleet.

According to them, Board Chairman Osabarima Ansah Sasraku III and Deputy MD, John Awuku Dzuazah must step aside for independent investigations to be conducted into the missing buses saga.

The workers say the Board Chair and Deputy Managing Director should be dismissed because they believe they both have a hand in the disappearance of buses belonging to the company in recent times.

An intervention by Minister of Transport, Dzifa Attivor got the workers to call off their indefinite strike and immediately return to work.

The Minister has promised to set up a committee to investigate the concerns of the workers and take appropriate action towards resolving the matter.
