17 Heads At Ghana Water Company Face Interdiction

Seventeen top officials of the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) could soon be on their way to court over allegations of causing financial loss to the state. A source close to the GWCL told JOY News that Works and Housing Minister, Yaw Barimah has given a directive for the interdiction of the affected personnel.

Those affected include S.G.O. Lamptey, who is in charge of operations and Robert Tackie, in charge of Finance and Administration. The others are former Managing Director, Charles Adjei; the procurement Manager, Agyenim Agyei and Charles Asong Lawson, Head of Public Relations who are all on leave.

The Minister is thought to have based his decision on the Justice Addae committee’s report that found them culpable of causing financial loss to the state in the discharge of their duties.

But the Minister denies ordering any interdictions. He rather told JOY News that he has presented the committee’s report to the Board of Directors of the company who will take appropriate action after a meeting on Thursday.
