The robbery suspects being escorted to the Police car
The Manso Nkwanta Police Command in the Ashanti Region has arrested 17 persons suspected to be armed robbers.
The suspects who allegedly attacked some residents of Tontonkrom were apprehended on Sunday evening, 29th April 2018 by a patrol team.
When some residents got wind of the nefarious activities of the robbers, they mounted road blocks at three different points but the suspects forced their way through them with a Sprinter bus.
Luck however eluded them and were arrested by a combined security team at Manso Adubia.
Police sources told Onua FM’s Antwi Boasiako that the suspects had initially told police at a barrier that they were spiritualists attending a member’s funeral to perform some rituals for his burial.
“Talisman, guns and other weapons were retrieved from the suspects”, the Assembly Member for Datano, Samuel Amponsah, told Onua FM.
The suspects are currently in the custody of the Ashanti Regional Police Command.
