Juaso (Ash), March 22, GNA - A circuit court at Juaso, has sentenced a 25-year-old unemployed man to 18 months imprisonment in hard labour for stealing six bunches of plantain.
Kwabena Frimpong pleaded guilty to the offence.
Police Detective Inspector Adu Ofori told the court presided over by Mr Justice S.K. Sarpong Appiah that the complainant was a farmer at Juaso while Frimpong was unemployed and resides at Odumase.
The Prosecution said that on March 16, David Gidi, a grandson of the complainant, and some farmers arrested Frimpong stealing plantain at the complainants farm and handed him over to the Police.
He admitted the crime in his caution statement but insisted that he stole a bunch of plantain and not six bunches of plantain.
