19 students dismissed from the University of Ghana

Accra, Jan. 28, GNA - The University of Ghana, Legon has cancelled the concessionary admission of 19 students because they were found to be irregular.

The cancellation followed the submission of a report of a Committee appointed by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kwadwo Asenso-Okyere during the early part of the 2004 - 2005 academic year to look into alleged irregularities in concessionary admissions and other forms of admission irregularities.


The Acting Director of Academic Affairs Directorate, Mr T. Tabi ordered the affected students to hand over any property of the University in their custody, including student identity cards to the Academic Affairs Directorate.


The letter said the students would not be entitled to any refund of fees paid during the entire period of their stay in the University. The affected students are: Mr Ernest Siaw Obeng; Mr Ben David Ampofo Twum;

Miss Magdalene Mends Appiah; Mr Victor Adane-Barifi; Mr Cephas Asare; Mr Frank Nukunu and Mr Emmanuel Essien.


The others are Miss Doris Owusu Darkwa; Mr Makafui Awuku; Mr Daniel Okoh Akrofi; Miss Gifty Akua Fordjour; Miss Nana Ebaskwa Blay; Miss Edel Osei Owusu; Mr Allan Asamoah and Mr Kwesi Aninkorah-Yeboah.


The rest are Mr Justice Kwablah Agbozo; Miss Adelaide Kusi-Agyapong; Mr Benjamin Owusu Agyakwa and Mr Maxwell Amuzu. 28 Jan. 05
