19-year-old Dutch installed as chief

Akomadan (Ash), May 05, GNA - Mr Timo Stark, a 19-year-old volunteer teacher from Holland has been installed as the Nkosuohene of Akomadan in the Offinso District.

Mr Stark teaches at the Misthy Cee Development Centre for Orphans at Akomadan.

Mr Siaka Stevens, Executive Director of the centre, commended Mr Stark for paying 7.2 million cedis as school fees for 60 orphans for one year and he has promised to sponsor the education of the children to any level.

''It is in the light of his hard work and contributions to help improve the education of the children that the chiefs and people of the community decided to install him as the Nkosuohene.''

Mr Stevens said the development of the centre depended on the efforts of the community and the support of volunteers from other countries and non-governmental organisations.

He appealed to the Offinso District Assembly to assist to provide infrastructure at the centre.

Nana Kwame Acheampong, Krontihene of Akomadan, expressed appreciation for the commitment of Mr Stark to support the development of education in the area.

He appealed to the people to emulate his example and contribute to the development of the town.

Mr Stark said it has been his objective to assist and train orphans and needy children in society.

He expressed gratitude to the community for installing him as the Nkosuohene, said he has chosen the community as his second home and pledged his support to the development of the town.
