Kojokrom (W/R), Nov. 16 - Mr Yaw Osafo-Marfo, a former presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has said that Ghana now has 2.6 billion dollars in the national coffers.

Speaking at a campaign rally for Nana Akufo-Addo, Presidential Candidate of the NPP, he said when the NPP took over from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government only 235 million dollars was in the coffers and debunked critics that the government's policies had brought untold hardship to the populace.

Rather the policies of the government had helped to improve the lives of the people and called for massive votes to retain the NPP to enable it continue its laudable work.

The former finance minister said with only few weeks to the December 7, 2008 elections the NPP government had 2.6 billion dollars in the national coffers.
