Juaso (Ash), June 2, GNA - Two persons who forcibly have sex with mother and daughter at the same time have been remanded in prison custody by the Juaso circuit court.

While Kwabena Peprah had sex with the 15-year-old daughter, one Kpodo also had a field day with the mother.

Peprah, who pleaded not guilty to a charge of defilement will re-appear on June 12.

Meanwhile, Kpodo, co-accused, who also pleaded not guilty to a charge of rape, had been in police custody for over one month. Chief Inspector J.K. Damanka, prosecuting told the court, presided over by Mr Jacob B. Boon that on March 17, this year at about 1800 hours, both mother (complainant) and daughter with babies strapped on their backs were travelling on foot to Agogo from Boankra in the Asante-Akim North district.

Whilst the mother carried a three-month-old baby, her daughter also carried a two-year-old toddler, all being children of complainant. On reaching a portion of the road, the two had a brief stop to enable complainant to breastfeed the baby when suddenly they saw Peprah and Kpodo walking towards them.

Mistaking them for good Samaritans, complainant asked them to wait and accompany them on their journey since it was getting dark. Peprah and Kpodo, quickly agreed to the request for assistance. Chief Inspector Damanka said the victims and their escorts trekked along the road without any problem till it got very dark when the two accused persons decided to unleash havoc on the victims.

They removed a cutlass from one of the victim's basket and threatened to slash them into pieces if they did not oblige to have sex with them.

Peprah and Kpodo asked the victims to put the babies they were carrying on the ground after which they overpowered them and forcibly had sex with them.

According to the prosecutor, accused persons extorted 50,000 cedis from the complainant and later left them to their fate after the act. The complainant later reported their ordeal to the Agogo police where they were issued with medical forms to attend the Agogo Presbyterian Hospital for medical examination.

The forms duly endorsed and confirming the act. A few days later, Peprah and Kpodo were spotted by the complainant at Agogo and with the help of the community, Kpodo was arrested but Peprah managed to escape.

He was however, arrested on May 29 and subsequently put before court.
