Two retired officers have donated GH¢15,000 towards the Burma Camp Redevelopment Project
Two retired military officers have donated GH¢15,000 towards the Burma Camp Redevelopment Project, an initiative aimed at replacing colonial-era infrastructure with modern accommodation facilities for personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).
The retired officers, Major Clement Agyemang (Rtd) and Major Festus Atinsiak Adangabey (Rtd), presented the cash donation on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the General Headquarters.
Brigadier General George Abosi Oppong of the Special Projects Office received the donation on behalf of the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS).
He commended the retired officers for their generosity and commitment to improving the living conditions of serving personnel.
Speaking during the presentation, Major Agyemang (Rtd) noted that inadequate accommodation has long been a challenge within the GAF and has adversely affected troop morale.
He, however, described the CDS’s initiative to redevelop Burma Camp into modern vertical structures with associated facilities on the existing land space through a self-help project as laudable.
He further appealed to retired personnel of the GAF to support the initiative in diverse ways to ensure its success.
